TWC consists of women belonging to a diverse range of organisations and networks that come together to promote a culture of equity and women’s rights.
Rising to the Challenge
The Women’s Circle (TWC) aims to develop coordinated programmes of action aimed at increasing the ability of women to participate effectively in society by:
- Building on the vision enshrined in our constitution; and
- Creating an enabling environment within which we as women can empower ourselves, and our communities.
What is the Women’s Circle?
TWC consists of women belonging to a diverse range of organisations and networks that come together to promote a culture of equity and women’s rights around a programme of action that aims to:
- encourage a respect for women’s rights and for women amongst all members of society
- orientate and equip women to meet some of the challenges of the 21st century
- expose women of all ages to a wide range of opportunities
- showcase innovative led women-led projects and programmes
- celebrate women’s achievements; and
- foster ongoing collaboration between various stakeholders
TWC promotes, lobbies and advocate for women’s issues in a variety of contexts. They happen in all kinds of spaces and community centres, health clubs, wellness centres schools’ communities’ members’ homes and public spaces. Using TWC’s format women across socio-economic and cultural divides can begin their own circle or join an existing circle.
