Learning about climate justice in times of drought and Covid-19

Shirley Walters, adult educator and activists, highlights the importance of learning about climate crises. Drawing on her own learning in a South African context, Walters shares her experience of learning about crises – one related to drought and another related to the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of her learning, she explains how ecofeminism provides a critical framework for understanding ‘climate justice’, the importance of understanding how climate crises affect the marginalised, and the significance of social movements as sites for transformative learning and advancing deep transformation.
